Firefighters rush to deal with vehicle on near Billing

A driver had a lucky escape when a car caught fire blocking part of the A45 in Northampton this lunchtime.

Passers-by shared shocking footage of the vehicle blaze on the westbound carriageway between Great Billing and Riverside just before noon today (Friday May 29).

Northamptonshire Police reported a blue BMW had broken down and then caught fire at 11.50am close to The Car Shop site.

Firefighters rushed to the scene and quickly put out the fire with no reported injuries.
