Biker, 74, airlifted to hospital after crash in Oundle

A 74-year-old motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital after being involved in a crash with a lorry.

The motorcyclist from Peterborough was seriously injured in the crash in Barnwell Road, Oundle, yesterday morning (Tuesday).

It happened at about 9.25am, near the quarry, when his red Aprilia RST 1000 motorbike was in collision with as DAF lorry, driven by a 53-year-old man from Wisbech.

Both vehicles were travelling in the same direction.

A police spokesman said: “The motorcyclist was taken by air ambulance to University Hospital Coventry with serious injuries.”
