Bangers boost charity’s coffers

A Rushden charity is asking people to donate old cars to help it raise funds.

The ExtraCare Charitable Trust has a network of 14 retirement villages and 17 smaller housing developments, including Imperial Court in Rushden, and has joined up with Giveacar, a non-profit social enterprise which collects unwanted or unused cars free of charge for charity.

The cars are then sold at an online auction or disposed of at an authorised facility and the profits are donated to the charity.
