Bag snatch victim was dragged along the floor

Police are appealing for information after a robbery took place in the Deeble Road area of Kettering.

A 54-year-old woman was walking along Deeble Road in the direction of Warkton Lane yesterday, Thursday, between 9.50pm and 10.10pm. As she reached the junction with Churchill Way, a man walking in the opposite direction attempted to grab her handbag. In the process, the victim was dragged along the floor.

The offender left with the handbag in the direction of Windmill Avenue.

The offender is described as a man, between 5ft 5ins and 5ft 6ins and was wearing a hooded top with the hood up.

The victim was carrying an umbrella which was damaged during the incident. This was left on a garden wall near to where the incident took place.

Officers would like anyone who may have found the umbrella to get in touch by calling 101.
