Attacker shouted racial abuse at man in Northampton before punching him
A man in his 50s was racially abused and punched to the ground as he tried to cross a busy road in Northampton.
The 54-year-old man was assaulted as he crossed Wellingborough Road, Northampton on Saturday afternoon.
The victim was crossing the road near to Costcutter, standing in the central reservation, when he was approached from behind by a man who grabbed him by the throat and racially abused him, before punching him to the ground.
The offender was an Asian man wearing a grey hooded top.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the assault, which took place some time between 3pm and 3.30pm, or who may have any information about it.
