Assault at bus stop

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Northfield Avenue, Kettering.

A man was sitting at a bus stop when he was approached by two men.

The first man spoke to the victim and then started to punch him. The victim fell to the floor and when he got up the second man grabbed him and dragged him across the road.

Both men continued to punch the victim and then left the scene in separate cars.

One of the offenders is described as a man of mixed race, early 30s, approximately 5ft 10ins, clear complexion, slim build, waist length black dreadlocks, wearing a dark coloured jumper and tracksuit bottoms and fingerless gloves.

The other offender is described as a white man, early 30s, 6ft 1ins, clear complexion, muscular build, short brown hair, wearing blue jeans and a black t-shirt.

The offenders are believed to have left in two separate cars towards Northampton Road.

One of the offenders left in a Black Audi TT and the second offender left in a red Vauxhall Corsa.

A bus and other traffic may have been held up during the assault and may have witnessed it.

The incident happened between 6.30pm and 7pm on Thursday.
