MORE than 100 visitors saw four artists awarded for their work at an open exhibition.
Kettering Council’s open art exhibition lauded the work of local artists when it launched last week, with 216 pieces submitted.
Now the public have been asked to vote for their favourite piece of work out of more than 70 that will be displayed, with the winning artist given the chance to exhibit a show at the Alfred East Art Gallery, in Sheep Street, Kettering, next year.
Valerie Hitchman, head of community services at the council, said: “Once again we have had an overwhelming number of entries covering all media for this year’s ‘Open 12.
“As always the standard has been exceptionally high and our judging panel have had the hard choice of selecting their winners but now we are offering visitors the chance to cast their vote.
“The artist who receives the most votes will be offered an exhibiting opportunity at the Alfred East Art Gallery in 2013.”
The exhibition is open to the public Tuesdays to Saturdays and will continue to be displayed at the Alfred East Art Gallery until Saturday 9 June.
The four artists that won cash prizes at the launch are as follows:
