Now a local police officer is appealing for help to track him down.

PC Judy Edmonds said: “Several members of the public stopped to help the driver after her car came off the road and into a ditch.

“One man gave her his jumper to keep her warm but left before I could speak to him.

“The woman, who fortunately wasn’t seriously injured, was very appreciative of the loan and I have tried to find him to say thank you and return the jumper but have so far been unsuccessful.

“He was driving a white van and was in his 20s, with short dark hair.

“If this was you, or you think you know him, please do get in touch – I can be contacted at Thrapston police office via 101.”
