Becky, 33, needs to raise £15,000 after being accepted to have stem cell treatment in America to treat her Multiple Sclerosis.

With a 92 per cent success rate, her family and friends are rallying round to help raise the money needed to get her to San Diego for the treatment early next month.

On her Just Giving page, Becky said: “I don’t tell many people but two years ago I experienced some frightening symptoms; optic neuritis, numb fingers and electric shocks through my body.

“Six months later after tests and MRI scans, I was diagnosed with relapsing remitting Multiple Sclerosis.

“I’ve been relatively OK for 12 months but experiencing an aggressive relapse has put me in hospital.

“Again, those who know me will know that I’m always busy, always on the go, but this has literally knocked me off my feet.

“I can’t work, can’t drive, don’t leave the house, can’t take my beautiful dogs that mean the world to me out, can hardly walk and am struggling to use my right arm.

“I have researched treatments that might help me and I’ve been accepted on to stem cell treatment in San Diego in five weeks.

“They have a 92 per cent success rate in relation to reversing the damage caused by a relapse and preventing further attacks, but I need your help desperately.”

Becky’s friend Heidi Redhead is organising an event with the help of her boss David Rhodes at Castle Bingo in Corby.

The fundraiser is taking place at 1pm on July 2 at the Viking Club in Corby.

Heidi said Cliff Morton has let them use the venue for free, although they are still looking for donations of prizes.

It is a child-friendly event so they would also like to hear from anyone who could donate a bouncy castle and someone to organise a barbecue.

Karl Drage has ‘donated his face’ as he hasn’t been clean-shaven in more than a decade.

Donations for this can be left in the bucket for Becky’s fund at Spencer Court newsagents.

Becky said: “My friends and family are helping so much and arranging all sorts of events and fun things.

“I just don’t ask for help ordinarily but I have realised that I can’t do this on my own and I’m so grateful for all of the help and support I’ve received.
