A junior football team has made an appeal for more players to come forward to ensure it can survive.
The under-10s team at FC Aztec, based in Rothwell, currently only has seven members of the squad for its seven-a-side matches, meaning there is little leeway in case any of the players are unavailable.
However, next year the team will play nine-a-side under-11s games, and is three or four players short of having a viable squad.
Coach Richard Pateman said some of the youngsters had been playing together for a number of years and were keen to ensure the team survived.
Mr Pateman said: “They want to keep going and keep playing with their friends.
“We have got to have about 11 players as a minimum.”
He said both girls and boys are able to join the squad.
The team plays on Sunday mornings and trains on Wednesday evenings at Montsaye Academy in Greening Road, Rothwell. For more information about joining the team, call Mr Pateman on 07813 697160. You can also log on to www.fcaztecyouth.co.uk.
