A man has appealed for local businesses to donate prizes for an online auction he is running in March – ahead of five endurance events he is also taking part in over the following few months.
Matthew Peleszok, from Desborough, will be running the Paris and London Marathons and the Great North Run as well as competing in two triathlons in order to support a hospice which helped his family.
Matthew, who works for Northamptonshire Sport, lost his mother, father and grandfather to cancer in the past 18 months.
And he is taking part in the 274 miles of competition in a bid to raise money for the Severn Hospice in Shrewsbury.
One of the triathlons involves a 2.4-mile swim and a 112-mile cycle – before it finishes with a full 26-mile marathon.
Matthew said donations to the online auction could be something as simple as a gift certificate for businesses or an invitation to an event they are hosting.
