Another victim of sex attacker comes forward

Another victim of a serial sex attacker has reported being assaulted to police.

Following last week’s appeal in the Evening Telegraph in relation to a series of sexual assaults in Wellingborough, a further incident, which took place in January, has been reported to officers that they believe may be linked.

The incident took place on Monday, January 30, at around 10.15pm. A 24-year-old woman was walking along Cannon Street and into Lister Street when a man approached her from behind and grabbed her inappropriately. The offender then left the scene in the direction of Cannon Street.

Witnesses to this incident, or anyone with information, should call Northamptonshire Police on 101 and mention Operation Breach. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Detective Inspector Mark Pattison said: “Enquiries are ongoing into this series of sexual assaults and we would continue to appeal for witnesses to any of these incidents to come forward. Officers are working around the clock to find the offender and ensure the safety of the public in Wellingborough.”
