Amy Claire hopes to top charts with EP release

A Wellingborough student has fulfilled her ambition of recording and publishing her own music with the release of her debut EP on iTunes.

17-year-old Amy Claire Addison, who studies at Tresham College in Kettering, has just released her 4 songs called Sea of Faces.

The singer-songwriter teen recieved a guitar for her 13th birthday, had five lessons, and then continued to teach herself the instrument.

After her mother fell over a microphone wire in Amy’s bedroom, parents Nicky and Dave converted a room in their Redwell home as a practice room.

Mum Nicky said: “It was a health and safety nightmare with wires all over her bedroom floor.

“After I fell over the flex we decided to make Amy a performance space so she could rehearse safely.

“Luckily she doesn’t have any siblings to disturb and the neighbours haven’t complained.”

On the back of her performance in Wellingborough’s Got Talent in December 2014 Amy was offered the opportunity to work with professional musician John Bowman, founding director and national trainer for the Notivate singer/songwriter programme.

After a session working with John on songwriting, Amy started to write her own material which lead to the recording session at Straw House Studios in Rugby - John acting as the accompanying pianist.
