A couple are opening a US-style diner in Finedon.
The restaurant in Burton Road will open in July and will sell everything from pancakes to burgers.
It will be called Ken’s Diner and has been set up by Mark and Debbie Thompson, in memory of Mark’s late father, who was a hot dog vendor.
Mr Thompson said: “My father sold his first hot dog in Leicester in 1955 and took us to the States in 1969 to open a fish and chip shop in Wyoming.
“Now I’ve decided we’ve got a lot of American memorabilia and should set up a diner telling the story of his life.
“We will be introducing home fries to England and the Philadelphia cheese steak.
“We’re also going to have a 74ft counter people can sit at.”
Mr Thompson said he hopes to open the diner on July 1.
