Wicksteed Park is running some special festive train rides for families over the Christmas period.
The Kettering attraction has organised a series of festive evenings for families to enjoy throughout December.
The evening starts with a chance for youngsters to make some mini-lanterns and make a wish at the Elves’ Workshop outside the Carousel cafe before walking to the station.
After a festive drink and a mince pie, the passengers will get aboard the specially decorated train with blankets to snuggle under.
They will then set off on the train to take a trip around the lake which has been decorated with lanterns, festive trees and floating lights.
After the journey the children will get a chance to see Santa’s sleigh in the station being made ready for the big night.
And the park has teamed up with the Northants Telegraph to give a special festive ride on the Christmas train to some local youngsters who deserve a treat.
Around 80 youngsters and their families or carers will be the first to try it out as they get aboard for the first trip of the Christmas season.
The Christmas Train will be departing from the park’s station between 4pm and 8pm from December 4 to 7, 11 to 14, 17 to 23 and 26 to 30.
The cost of taking a festive trip on the Christmas train is £7 for adults and £5.50 for children.
Group discounts apply and children under 90 centimetres tall ride for free.
