Accidents caused rush hour problems for motorists this morning following incidents on the A6 near Finedon and the A45 at Wellingborough.

The A6 was closed in both directions this morning between the A510 Thrapston Road and Higham Road due to an accident involving a car.

The road has since reopened but was still slow-moving during the morning with traffic queuing in both directions.

Fire crews were called to the scene.

An accident involving one car also took place on the same stretch of road yesterday, Sunday, September 23, at 10.10pm. Fire crews from Burton Latimer, Irthlingborough and a special rescue vehicle from Mereway attended that incident. Two occupants of the car were released by fire-fighters. They suffered minor injuries.

The A45 accident caused slow-moving traffic at the Turnells Mill Lane roundabout this morning.
