A DRUNK who threatened a security guard with a broken bottle has been jailed.
Matthew Barton was sat drinking in Corby town centre on March 23 when he was asked to move on by a security guard. He then smashed the vodka bottle he was holding and threatened the guard with it, also hurling a volley of abuse his way.
Corby Magistrates Court heard on Friday that Barton, 26, of Elizabeth Street, Corby, refused to work with the probation service and would rather go to prison.
Barton said: “It is going to be easier for me to help myself inside than outside.”
He was jailed for 20 weeks.
