Part of the A14 near Kettering will be closed next week as scheduled road improvement works take place.
Lane one of the eastbound carriageway between Junction 8 and 9 and the Junction 9 exit slip road will be closed from 8pm on Tuesday, December 15, to 8am on Wednesday, December 16, and again from 8pm that night to 8am on Thursday, December 17.
Workers will be resurfacing the road and laying new road markings as part of the £42m road widening scheme, which began in 2013.
There may be some emergency temporary closures to repair potholes and in these instances drivers are advised to follow the signed diversion routes.
During full carriageway closures long-distance traffic travelling between the A1 and M1 are directed to use the strategic diversion route:
Eastbound: exit the A14 at junction 7 on to the A43. Continue on the A43 until Stanion, at the roundabout take the second exit on to the A6116. Follow the A6116 to re-join the A14 at junction 12.
Westbound: exit the A14 at junction 12 on to the A6116 at the roundabout take the second exit on to the A43. Stay on the A43 to re-join the A14 at junction 7.
