A-levels: Weavers Academy, Wellingborough

Weavers Academy have cause to celebrate after they announced a record overall pass rate of 98 per cent at A–level and 100 per cent for vocational qualifications.

Against national trends, the academy has also seen an increased number of A* and A grades.

Among those to receive terrific news this morning were Jakub Wojciechowski who achieved three A*s and one A and Liz Turnell who achieved two A and a Distinction*.

Jakub will go on to study biomedical science at Kings College, London, whilst Liz will study Psychology at the University of Northampton.

All upper sixth students who wanted to continue in education have successfully secured places at universities across the country including Leeds, Leicester and Keele.

Executive principal of Weavers and director of education of the Creative Education Trust, Mr Philip Cantwell, said: “Throughout their time at Weavers Academy, students are encouraged to aim high.

“Weavers Academy shapes students who are resilient learners and who strive to achieve their potential.

“These results are a real credit to the effort they have put in to their studies and we wish them all the very best for the future.”
