Antony Bounds, head of admissions at the university, said: “The University of Northampton has once again had a solid year in terms of recruitment in the run-up to clearing.

“The national picture has shown that more students than ever are receiving offers from universities and we have continued to improve our performance in a competitive market.

“For those students who have found that their circumstances have changed, our advice is not to panic.

“The clearing process offers people a better than ever route into higher education.

“Whether your grades are better than expected, not quite what you hoped for or you have just decided to apply to university, clearing offers the opportunity to speak with people about your options and to find a course suitable for you.

“The University of Northampton is a top 50 university and has a number of places on offer on a variety of courses.”
