10 years of celebrating Rushden's history at town museum
Rushden Museum first opened to the public in 2006 and has since gone on to achieve many awards.
After having an extension in 2009 in the Old Stable Block at Rushden Hall, it has been able to put on more exhibitions and displays and there is a plaque to commemorate the completion of the extension and recognise Rushden Museum’s founder member Susan Hollowell.

The museum will be focusing on the First World War again and specifically looking at 1916.
The main display will be a field hospital from the Somme and they are again looking for items connected with hospitals of that period.
Committee members would love to hear from anyone who has any items which could be used in this display, which will also include a display of shops and buildings in Church Street.

As well as this display, a number of events are also due to take place throughout the anniversary year for members.
The new president from February 2016 to 2018 is Clive Wood, who will be holding an event later in the year.
A spokesman for the museum committee said: “We would like to thank Mr John Harley who is the retiring president for all his hard work.”
