People interested in the history of houses and the design, furniture and decoration are welcome to attend a 10-week course.
The Corby branch of the Workers’ Educational Association is running a course called Design in your home: a history of houses, starting next week (January 8).
The course will consider what influences people’s choices about how their homes look and feel.
It will explore design in the modern home, including a rich palette of tastes and styles, from the late Victorians to the turn of the century.
Starting with six typical British houses, participants will study the vast diversity of design, looking at exteriors, interiors, furniture, decoration and objects in the home.
The course starts on Tuesday, January 8, at 7.15pm in the Meeting Room on the first floor of Corby East Midlands International Swimming Pool in George Street.
Any interested adults are welcome to enrol for the course, and concessions will be available to certain groups.
For details call the branch secretary Ruth Tindley on 01536 395555.
