Elderly residents have been learning how to use the internet thanks to a popular course.
The IT course at the Shrubberies care home in Woodford has recently received funding from Spire Homes to teach residents of the centre basic computing skills.
The course is held every Tuesday and has eight members for the morning session and six for an afternoon session.
Led by Michael Poole, the course has helped the residents, aged 50 and over, to browse the internet and use programmes such as Microsoft Word.
He said: “It’s been a really successful course and it allows them to keep in touch with relatives via email.
“It’s also helped bring the residents together and gives them a chance to learn how to use programmes and the internet.”
