The mother of a woman with multiple sclerosis was amazed after her flower club raised £300 to help people with the disease.
Kettering and District Flower Club raised £300 for Kettering and District MS Society, its chosen charity of the year.
Chairman Marge Dix, whose daughter Michelle suffers from MS, said: “I think it’s amazing. It’s absolutely brilliant.
“It’s lovely to be able to present the MS Society with that amount of money knowing it will do good and go to people who benefit.”
The group, whose 100-odd members meet at the Corn Market Hall, Kettering, on the first Wednesday of the month, raised the cash through plant sales, book sales and raffles at its monthly meetings.
Member Betty Burditt contributed a lot of the plants and flowers which other members bought with donations to the charity.
The money will be used to buy equipment and provide support to people living with MS in the area.
Mrs Dix said: “As I’m chairman it was my choice, so it was obviously dear to my heart.”
