One of the most exciting events in the build up to Christmas, is the switching on of the town centre's lights.
The event is like a rite of passage to mark the beginning of festivities in the county and a way to look forward to the month ahead.
This newspaper has compiled a list of Christmas light switch-ons set to take place across Northamptonshire this year.

Here are the Christmas light switch on events in Northamptonshire 2021 we know about so far:
5. Walgrave Village
November, 28, 29 and 30 at 4pm. Every year Ashley Matthews decorates his Nan's house in Springfield Road, Walgrave with hundreds of Christmas lights to support charities close to the hearts of Peggy, 78, and her neighbours. This year, they are raising money for the British Heart Foundation ,Cynthia Spencer Hospice and the Talbot Butler Ward at Northampton General Hospital. There will be hot drinks for everyone who attends.

6. Market Street, Wellingborough
Saturday, November 27 from 2.30pm to 6pm. There will be live music performances and performers from The Castle Theatre will help kick start the festive season in the town.
7. Raunds Christmas Market and Light Switch-On
Sunday, November 28 at Raunds Town Centre from 2pm to 6.30pm. Santa's parade leaves the Town Hall at 2.45pm, entertainment starts at 3pm and the Christmas light switch-on will take place at 6pm. There will be fair rides, a petting zoo, a Freddie Mercury tribute act, Santa's Grotto and a variety of food and craft stalls.
