Bernie Clifton appears in Music Hall show in Wellingborough

Enjoy a trip down memory lane with a popular comedian who recently appeared on The Voice next week at The Castle in Wellingborough.

Back by popular demand with a brand new The Magnificent Music Hall Matinee spectacular will be a celebration of the glorious and glamorous heyday of British Music Hall circa 1890’s.

Fresh from his blind audition on BBC’s The Voice, special guest star Bernie Clifton will take to the Wellingborough stage to take audiences on a trip down memory lane on Wednesday January 27 starting at 2.30pm.

Helming this splendid afternoon of rich entertainment of song dance, magic and laughter will be the eloquent and elegantly waist coated Chairman complete with gavel and sharp wit together with an ‘august’ line up of artistes who have all appeared on BBC TV’s The Good Old Days.

This two hour gala performance will delight and entertain lovers of participatory entertainment, the songs you love to sing and the jokes you love to hear.

The 80-year-old comedian, and semi retired “Ostrich Jockey”, Bernie Clifton has hundreds of TV appearances to his name, not to mention a Royal Variety Performance in front of her Majesty the Queen.

This January, he was back on TV screens across the country as he joined queue of 1,000’s to audition as a singer in reality talent show, The Voice.

Originally a dance band vocalist in St Helens, he put his singing talent aside to pursue a career in comedy, for which he is well-known and much-loved.

Not deterred by his experience, Bernie describes his foray into the world of music as work in progress and is convinced that age is no barrier and would love to work in musical theatre.
