Northamptonshire is the third best performing county in the country for vaccinating over-80s, according to the latest figures.

In the latest comparison figures, which go up to January 24, Northamptonshire is shown to have vaccinated 87.2 percent of the population aged over 80 in the county. Only Hereford and Worcestershire, and Gloucestershire, have a better rate at 89.4 percent and 91.1% respectively.

The worst authority area is Our Healthier South East London, which has only vaccinated 60.1% of their over-80s population.

Speaking last week at the opening of the new super hub vaccination centre in Moulton Park, Anna Dorothy, deputy of the vaccination programme, said the impact of the vaccination programme was beginning to be felt.

"I think it's fair to say we have been successful getting people through the vaccination process so far. We've had really positive feedback. It's been really good, really positive," Anna

"We are starting to see the impact in the vaccination programme. There has been a reduced number of cases which will be due to a combination of lockdown measures and of the vaccine programme.

"If you have had the vaccine please keep following the rules. We don't want people to get complacent."
