Victoria House Care Home in Rushden is hosting its annual summer fete over Zoom tomorrow (Tuesday, September 15), to support his medical costs in Thailand and to eventually bring him home.

Michelle Collis, administrator at Victoria House care home, said: “Daniel is a much-loved member of the community and we were devastated to hear of his cancer diagnosis.

"I’ve known Dan for more than 25 years, and many of the team had a close relationship, so we were keen to do our bit to help.

"Amazingly, more than £12,000 has already been raised by locals – enabling him to receive his treatment – but more still needs to be done to make sure he gets the aftercare he needs and is able to return home safely."

Dan needs £17,500 for a "life-saving" operation and to get home. He needed a minimum payment of £4,500 for the operation to take place, and according to the JustGiving page set up for Dan, the hospital has now received £9,000.

The page now has a total of £13,763.

Victoria House's Zoom event will be tomorrow afternoon between 2pm and 4pm. Michelle said: "Due to the pandemic we won’t be able to host our usual summer fete, but we are inviting people to join our virtual event, with a raffle and tombola – to raise money for Daniel’s cause."

If you'd like to join the Zoom fundraiser, the meeting codes are 97361158468 and mP4ZD5/
