Four more tragic Covid-19 deaths confirmed at KGH

The hospital's death toll now stands at 144.

Kettering General Hospital's grim coronavirus death toll is nearing 150 after four more patients lost their lives.

The Rothwell Road hospital confirmed the deaths today (Monday) in NHS England's daily update.

One death took place on May 14 with three the following day on May 15, taking the total number of deaths there to 144.

The total number of deaths in Northamptonshire is now almost 450, of which 212 of the dead were at Northampton General Hospital.

The number of positive Covid-19 tests in the county was 1,281 when the latest data was published at 9am on Sunday.

Kettering has the most laboratory-confirmed cases in the north of the county with 197.

Nationally today the NHS confirmed 122 more Covid-19 deaths in hospitals, taking the number of deaths in hospitals in England to almost 25,000.

The confirmed UK coronavirus death toll, including deaths at care homes and in the community, is almost at 35,000.

The NHS has recently added loss of smell and taste to the official coronavirus symptoms list.

Anyone suffering from either symptom must self-isolate for seven days and their family will need to stay indoors for 14 days under new guidelines.
