The unit, which will be running as part of the UK's national Covid-19 testing programme, will be in the town from June 11 to June 14.

The exact location has not yet been revealed by health officials. Anyone who books a test will be told of the location once they have completed their booking.

The site will be the latest mobile testing unit to run in the north of the county.

In recent weeks mobile testing units have been set up at Corby's Rockingham Triangle - although the Government originally gave out the wrong address - and the Tesco superstore in Wellingborough.

Last week it was at the London Road car park in Kettering and was set up to carry out up to 330 tests a day.

Testing is by appointment only and appointments can be made at www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-getting-tested.

The test site will have one-way system that allows people with an appointment to attend for either walk-in or drive-through testing.

The eligibility criteria for tests have been extended to include anyone with coronavirus symptoms - a new, continuous cough; high temperature; loss of or change in sense of smell or taste. Essential workers will be given a priority.
