Key Stage One children at a primary school in Kettering couldn't contain their delight after they received a special delivery from America.

Greenfields Primary School and Nursery received specially-imported playground equipment, funded by a generous donation by Friends Of Greenfields School (FROGS), the weekly ‘Fri-yay’ Tuckshop run by teaching assistant Linda White and a portion of the school’s sports premium.

The PlayCubes give the children an additional challenge over their break and lunchtimes and arrived complete with a Christmas bow.

School headteacher Sandra Appleby said: "At Greenfields Primary School and Nursery, we are very fortunate to have so much outdoor space for our children to spend their time in at lunch and break times.

The Key Stage One children have been envious of the ambitious climbing equipment that was installed two years ago in the Key Stage Two playground, so I am delighted that they also have exciting equipment of their own.

"It is so important for our children to be able to challenge themselves in every way, not just academically, every day, and develop their physical skills and fitness too."

Mrs Appleby thanks to the hard-working members of FROGS for their support.
