No, Boots in Kettering is not closing

Kettering shoppers have been reassured the town's Boots is not closing.

Several rumours had suggested the health and beauty retailer and pharmacy chain would be permanently closing its Gold Street store.

Staff had made it clear on social media this was not the case and now a Boots UK spokesman has confirmed Kettering's store will remain open.

The spokesman said: "There are no planned closures for the Boots store in Gold Street in Kettering.

"The store is open and trading as usual."

Earlier this month Boots said 4,000 jobs would be cut nationally - about seven per cent of their workforce.

It was consulting on plans to cut its head office and store teams and shut 48 Boots Opticians practices out of more than 600.
