Those craving a Big Mac will be able to get their McDonald's fix from today after the burger giant announced which Northamptonshire drive-thrus will open.

Restaurants around the country have been closed since the Covid-19 pandemic started in March, with a select few opening before June and more than 100 yesterday, with none in Northamptonshire.

But today they have released a list of drive-thrus set to open from 11am this morning - including those in the north of the county.

McDonald's drive-thrus in Northants are opening today

On the list of drive-thrus opening today produced by McDonald's is:

- A14 Eastbound, Rothwell

- Courier Road, Corby (near Phoenix Parkway)

- Enstone Court, Wellingborough (Wilby Way)

- London Road, Wellingborough

- Orion Way, Kettering

- Stanier Retail Park, Kettering (Northfield Avenue)

- Raunds service station

- Southern Gateway, Corby

Corby's Corporation Street store is open for McDelivery and Kettering's High Street store remains closed.

There will be a reduced menu with reduced opening hours and huge queues are expected at those opening today.

A McDonald's spokesman said: "Today we’re announcing a further 497 restaurants that will be operating their Drive Thrus from 11am, and 43 restaurants that will begin offering McDelivery.

"We are glad to be back but it will look a little different and may take a little longer, so please bear with us. We have fewer employees in our kitchens to enable our teams to social distance and work safely. We will have a limited menu (no breakfast or shakes for now) and will open for reduced hours (11am-10pm). We encourage you to use contactless payment methods and cap your spend at £25. For those visiting our drive-thrus, you can browse the menu, order and pay ahead using the My McDonald’s App - we’ll start preparing your order when you’re near the restaurant.

"We’re delighted to be returning to communities across the UK and Ireland, thank you for your continued support and patience. We look forward to seeing you soon."
