Those with a sweet tooth will soon be able to grab their dessert fix when a new shop opens in Kettering's town centre.

Just Desserts, in High Street, hopes to open on July 29 and will serve up a range of sweet treats including ice creams and cakes.

It is owned by Kettering man Aaron Bains, 31, who is opening his own business having previously co-run a dessert shop.

He said: "There's no better location than being on the high street.

"I think Kettering needs somewhere where you can sit in with some great desserts and I want a fun, bubbly, vibrant atmosphere."

The shop will sell 25 different flavours of ice cream including the classics as well as flavours such as Kinder Bueno and cherry bakewell.

There will be waffles, crepes, cakes, cheesecakes, sundaes, cookie dough, milkshakes, hot drinks and more with lots of vegan and gluten-free options.

It will also show Sky Sports, MTV and children's channels and potentially have some outside seating.

And there will be a secret surprise - which will be announced the day before they open.

Aaron said planning the opening of the business has been far from a piece of cake.

He added: "It's been quite stressful but even though there's been a pandemic I think it's still the right time to open a business.

"It will bring people back into the town centre and that's what we need right now."

Just Desserts is looking to take on between 10 and 15 new members of staff.
