Opportunity Knocks for Pam 40 years on

A poet and comedian is celebrating the 40th anniversary since she appeared on Opportunity Knocks with a new tour coming to the Royal and Derngate in Northampton.

Forty Years On With Pam Ayres comes to the theatre from Thursday, November 12 ,and Friday, November 13.

Described as “a proper poet, whose wistful, funny, and perceptive verse captures both the joy and unfairness of life” by the Sunday Times, her work is humorous and approachable. Her writing is known for its eye for the detail of everyday life and for the absurdity therein.

Her books have been bestsellers for 40 years, including the the recent paperback release of her latest book of poetry, You Made Me Late Again!, and Ayres is still a regular on radio and TV, with appearances on shows such as Just A Minute, Loose Ends, six series of Ayres On The Air for Radio 4, the Paul O’Grady Show, the Alan Titchmarsh Show, Countdown, and The One Show.
