Mythology gets a comedy twist

The myths and legends of Greece have been put through a comedy filter in a new show performed by an amateur dramatics group.

The Moulton Players is putting on the show the Rape of the Belt which has been written by Benn Levy. A spokesman for the group has said to people not to be put off by the title as the rape in the context of the show means theft.

This play is loosely based on the tale of the ninth labour of Heracles from Greek mythology.

The group say the audience will be in for a confusing and hilarious evening,

The show is to be performed from Monday July 6 to Saturday July 11 and there will be performances at 7.30pm each night at Moulton Theatre.

Tickets for the show are £8 or for seats at the balcony are £6.50.

These can be obtained at the Saturday Coffee Mornings at the theatre in Cross Street from 10am - noon.
