Bosses have confirmed that The Core at Corby Cube will re-open next month.
Following Monday’s government announcement, it has been confirmed that The Core at Corby Cube will be able to re-open from Friday, June 11, with a handful of summer shows.
The venue will re-open with a selection of theatre, comedy, music, dance, and family shows in June and July, with more shows to be announced for the Autumn/Winter season in the coming months.
On Friday, June 11, the venue will open with an interactive murder-mystery show hosted by superfan Tim Benzies, Solve-Along-A-Murder-She-Wrote, followed by Comedy Club 4 Kids on Saturday, June 12, at 2pm and comedian Sam Avery’s show Toddlergeddon at 8.45pm.
There will be a selection of music acts to choose from, including status quo legend Francis Rossi and a one-off Elvis and Neil Diamond night performed by Fisher Stevens, as well as gig-theatre from Pecho Mama with the visceral Medea Electronica.
All performances will be socially distanced until the government announce further easing of restrictions, with the roadmap currently stating June 21 as the next proposed date for changes to guidelines.
Both a #SeeItSafely venue (UK Theatre and SOLT) and accredited by Visit England with the We’re Good To Go mark, bosses say The Core at Corby Cube ensures the highest level of Covid safety precautions to keep audiences, artists and staff safe.

Director of The Core Joe Flavin said: “Monday’s news of restriction changes in line with the road map is positive news for The Core and we are delighted to be one giant step further to ensuring that the theatre is available again to everyone from June 11.”
Thanks to a successful DCMS Cultural Recovery Grant, The Core has been able to continue to deliver creative projects throughout the pandemic, recently welcoming young people back into the venue again.
Lyrical Lockdown is the latest project, mentoring 12 to 18-year-old budding musicians and technicians for a live-streamed gig at the end of May.
Regular Sparks sessions for five to 11-year-olds and Core Create/Core Comedians for 12 to 18-year-olds have also been enjoying in-person sessions again, which have been offered for free from the theatre until the end of term.
