The show sees Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with big hair and an even bigger heart, who is on a mission to follow her dreams and dance her way onto national TV.

The tour has been going on for nearly a year but the audiences are still thrilled by the feel good show.

Claire added: “It has been going really well. We were recently performing in Edinburgh recently in a 3,000 seater theatre and we were getting a standing ovation.”

She does get quite animated in her discussion of her most famous role in Brookside.

Claire said: “I think it was absolutely scandalous that it was cancelled when it was . I hink it was just starting to get back to where it was.

“I don’t know if it could come back, maybe if someone like Amazon were interested then it would work.”

But would she reprise her role of Lindsey Corkhill?

She said: “It would depend on a lot of things at the time. Who is to say what will happen in the future.”

Also starring in the show is Freya Sutton as Tracy Turnblad, Bad Education’s Layton Williams and former Blue Peter presenter Peter Duncan.
