Royal & Derngate’s Youth Theatre members have put together a different take on a classic Shakespearean tale.

A Mini Midsummer Night’s Dream will be staged on Sunday to coincide with the main Made in Northampton production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream (running until May 11).

The Youth Theatre’s show will be performed on the Royal stage for one night, using the professional sets, and will be a remixed, reworked celebration of magic, silliness and love.

The production is sponsored by local signmakers and vehicle graphics experts Signs Express, who are based on Brackmills industrial estate.

Signs Express (Northampton) managing director, Mark Meadowcroft, said: “Most of our signmakers join us as teenagers. We teach them to do a job that requires discipline, hard work, skill and creativity in equal measure. Given that, it’s no surprise that we support Royal & Derngate when they ask exactly the same of young people.”

A Mini Midsummer Night’s Dream will be performed at 7.15pm. Tickets cost £7. For information, call the box office on 01604 624811 or visit www.
