Those in the mood for a giggle might find what they are looking for at the Royal & Derngate in Northampton when the Screaming Blue Murder Comedy Club gets under way for the autumn.
Tony Law will top the line-up, which features the cream of the current comedy crop.
Shock-headed surrealist, Tony Law, was crowned Best Breakthrough Act at the 2012 Chortle Awards, returning this year to scoop the Best Club Comic and Best Show gongs.
A spokesman said: “This Canadian master of the absurd has edged towards the mainstream over the past year, with appearances on Have I Got News For You, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and 8 Out Of 10 Cats. But, live on stage, his unhinged, inspired brilliance really gets the chance to take wing.”
James Sherwood will also be performing. A classically-trained musician, his songs about grammatical inaccuracies, inflation and unemployment manage to be catchy and funny.
London Scot, Maureen Younger, known for her audience interaction skills, will complete the line-up. The show will be held in the theatre’s Underground on Friday, September 20 at 8.15pm. Tickets cost £12.50. Call 01604 624811. Recommended for ages 16 and above.
