ROBERT Louis Stevenson’s tale of buccaneers and buried gold comes to the Stahl theatre in Oundle next week.

Treasure Island tells the story of Jim Hawkins’ adventures in the search for buried treasure.

The story has delighted readers for generations and now comes to the stage in an adaptation by award-winning playwright Phil Wilmott.

Familiar characters such as Long John Silver and his parrot, Captain Flint, Ben Gunn and Blind Pugh will be brought to life in a colourful and exciting new production performed by Oundle School pupils and directed by Kathryn Francis.

The show is on Wednesday at 7.45pm and Thursday at 5pm.
