Stormy times for the Duke of Milan at Castle Theatre

Shakespeare’s classic taleThe Tempest is being brought to the stage at The Castle in Wellingborough next week.

The internationally acclaimed company Shakespeare 4 Kidz is behind this production, which will be performed at 10.30am and 1.30pm on Monday.

The Tempest is a story which revolves around Prospero, the former Duke of Milan.

Exiled 12 years earlier on a mystical Mediterranean island, Prospero has spent his time perfecting his magic art and planning revenge on his wicked brother and the followers who overthrew him.

When a powerful sea tempest shipwrecks his former adversaries, they are tricked and tormented by Prospero’s magic to hilarious effect.

The Tempest is believed to have been written by Shakespeare in 1610 and 1611.

A spokesman said: “Shakespeare 4 Kidz’ The Tempest is a mystical, magical, mysterious, musical romantic comedy of revenge, a father’s love for his daughter and the misuse of power.”
