The much-loved children’s picture book The Gruffalo is brought to life in a musical stage adaptation at Royal & Derngate next week.

Join Mouse on an adventure through the wood in search of hazelnuts and meet an array of characters including the cunning Fox, the eccentric old Owl and the party-mad Snake.

Mouse has only got a nut map and a little courage to see her through the journey and make sure she doesn’t become anyone’s dinner.

The show is a combination of music, laughter, physical theatre and just a little bit of scary fun. It is based on the book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, and is a production by Tall Stories.

Their musical adaptation of this modern classic is set to a catchy musical score with original songs.

The Gruffalo takes to the Derngate stage at 1.30pm and 4.30pmon Wednesday September 10, and at 10.30am and 1.30pmon Thursday, September 11.

Tickets are £12 and can be booked by calling the box office on 01604 624811 or by visiting the website at www.royalandderngate.co.uk.

The Gruffalo is recommended for ages three and upwards.
