The traditional fairytale of Sleeping Beauty will be brought to life at Northampton’s Royal & Derngate from tomorrow in the theatre’s latest festive panto.

Former Brookside actor Sam Kane and his actress wife Linda Lusardi star in the show. Linda will play Carabosse, the Wicked Fairy, and Sam will take on the dual role of performing as The Henchman and directing the production.

Linda has enjoyed a 25-year career spanning the world of stage, film and television. Her many stage roles have included parts in Funny Peculiar, Pygmalion and Rock With Laughter.

Sam has been a stalwart of musical theatre for many years. He has appeared in numerous stage shows, including Popstar, the West End production of The Rat Pack, Hot Flush! and Boogie Nights.

Jon Conway, executive producer, said: “As well as an outstanding cast, this year’s production sees the introduction of 3D special effects at certain points in the show. A talented team of designers and animators have put together brand-new 3D sequences, including a fabulous 3D forest.”

Sleeping Beauty will run until Sunday, January 5. Tickets cost from £14 to £19. Call 01604 624811 for details.
