Ray Mears is one of the most recognised authorities in the world on bushcraft, survival and the wilderness, and certainly one of the most travelled.
This Monday, at 7.30pm, he is set to take his new theatre show, An Evening with Ray Mears - The Outdoor Life!, to the Royal & Derngate in Northampton.
Ray’s adventures have taken him to some of the planet’s most uninhabitable and harshest environments and made him a household name with fans of every generation, who have enjoyed his numerous television series, including Track, World of Survival, Money Can’t Buy with Ewan McGregor, The Real Heroes of Telemark and many more.
Ray is also a successful author of more than 10 survival books. His much-anticipated autobiography was released in September and will be on sale at the theatre.
A spokeswoman said: “Ray’s down-to-earth approach, warmth and respect for the many indigenous peoples and different cultures he has experienced has touched the hearts of everyone. His obvious love and passion for his subject have made Ray a true master of the subject he calls ‘wilderness bushcraft.’
“Using footage, photographs and some unusual props, the evening is an exciting journey with Ray as he shares stories from his many years surviving the wilderness and its colourful wildlife. He reveals the secrets of how to survive in the wilderness, deal with poisonous animals and endangered species and hunt down animals by their tracks, and much more.”
Tickets cost £23.50–£26. To book, call 01604 624811 or see www.royalandderngate.co.uk
