Christmas may be over but it is still very much panto season in Paulerspury.
The Paulerspury Players have been presenting pantomimes in their village hall since 1988 and they are getting ready to stage their 25th, celebrating their Silver Jubilee, next week. This year’s show is Babes In The Wood, directed by Tracey Lyle-Carter.
She said: “This is a script full of music and fun, traditional in many ways, but with plenty of twists and turns.
“The orphan babes have been left a fortune by their father, but next in line to inherit is their uncle, the wicked Sheriff of Nottingham.
“His target is to eliminate the babes but, of course, he fails at every turn, thwarted by Robin Hood, the gallant hero of the story.
“I have our largest cast for many years, packed with young people, but with plenty of experienced actors as well.”
New to the company this year is musical director, Heidi Carascon, from Towcester, who is aiming to have drums and bass guitar to back up a piano.
Tickets cost £7 or £5 from 0845 8334910 or 01327 811578. Performances will run from Wednesday, February 19 until Saturday, February 22, with shows held at 7.30pm nightly and at 2.30pm on Saturday. The matinee is already sold out.
