Veteran comedian, Bobby Davro, a former star of two Derngate pantomimes, is set to perform again in Northampton next week.
Originally scheduled for Saturday, October 12, the date of Bobby’s show has now been changed and will take place on Saturday, October 19 at 7.45pm.
A man of many talents – comedian, impressionist, game-show host and actor –Bobby soared to fame in the 1980s with TV shows such as Bobby Davro On The Box and Bobby’s Sketch Pad, before joining the BBC to make Rock With Laughter, among other popular shows.
He made his straight acting debut in EastEnders as the loveable rogue, Vinnie Monks, and has also appeared on Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Dancing On Ice.
Most recently, he has been imitating Tom Jones, Ozzy Osbourne, Mick Jagger and even Tammy Wynette on TV’s prime time Saturday night show, Your Face Sounds Familiar. A spokesman said: “A huge hit with Northampton’s panto audiences two years running in Aladdin and Cinderella, Bobby will take to the Royal stage for a rib-tickling reminder of what he does best; a madcap, mixed bag of jokes, impressions and possibly some songs.”
