“Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse...”
These words will come to life on stage at The Core at Corby Cube from Tuesday when some festive magic wings its way to the theatre in a special Christmas production.
Inspired by the well-loved poem penned by Clement Clarke Moore, the story begins on Christmas Eve, as Emily stares out of the window, hugs her teddy and waits excitedly for the morning.
Meanwhile, in the corner, a little mouse called Eddie can’t understand why only humans are allowed to celebrate and get presents. So, he sets off in search of Father Christmas, to find out for himself.
On the way he meets the sinister family cat Cecil, the Christmas Tree Fairy and Dymotron, the Robot Warrior. But will Eddie get an answer? Will Emily get her wish? And, what is that funny-shaped present sitting under the tree?
The Night Before Christmas can be seen in The Theatre auditorium.
The production, by the Big Wooden Horse Theatre Company, promises songs and audience participation.
The show is recommended for families and children aged three and above.
The Night Before Christmas will run from Tuesday, December 4 until Sunday, December 9, with performances held at 10am and 1pm, Tuesday to Friday, and 11am and 2pm on Saturday and Sunday.
