Comedy cabaret trio, Fascinating Aida, will be celebrating 30 years of their own brand of entertainment with a new show called Charm Offensive, to be performed at Northampton’s Royal & Derngate on Tuesday.
Dillie Keane, Adele Anderson and Liza Pullman will present a host of outrageous old favourites as well as several new numbers, hot off the press.
Keane founded Fascinating Aida in 1983 and was joined by key writing partner Anderson in 1984. The group wrote songs for radio and television programmes throughout the 1980s, keeping cabaret alive throughout the alternative comedy boom.
Longest-serving soprano Liza Pullman joined in 2004.
A spokeswoman said: “Fascinating Aida have had a huge influence on a new generation of performers, particularly on the resurgent cabaret scene, where their mordant, witty songs have been covered by the likes of Camille O’Sullivan and The Dresden Dolls’ Amanda Palmer. Their classic Shattered Illusions has become all but a standard.”
The show will start at 8pm. Tickets cost £19. Transaction fees apply to phone and website bookings but not in person. Call 01604 624811 or visit www.royalandderngate.co.uk for more information.
