One of Children’s Laureate Julia Donaldson’s best-loved creations, Stick Man, will come to the Royal & Derngate in Northampton next week.

The show will be performed in the town following on from three sell-out international tours and two West End runs.

As the story goes: ‘Stick Man lives in the family tree, with his Stick Lady Love and their stick children three...’

But the world is a dangerous place for Stick Man. A dog wants to play with him, a swan builds a nest with him, he even ends up on a fire. Will he ever get back to the family tree? The show is suitable for children aged three and above. In this production by the renowned Scamp Theatre, a trio of actors use puppetry, catchy tunes and funky moves to bring alive the world imagined by Donaldson and illustrator, Axel Scheffler.

Julia Donaldson said: “Scamp Theatre sends shivers down my spine.

“They are so lively and innovative. I love their production of Stick Man.”

Stick Man will be performed on the Royal stage on Wednesday, October 2 at 4.30pm and on Thursday, October 3 at 10.30am and 4.30pm.

Tickets, priced £12, can be booked by calling the box office on 01604 624811.
